We’ve got an event coming up that we need to sell tickets for. I did a quick google and found a few nice looking sites that would help us with that, and the one I kinda settled in on is eventsbot.com. It seems to be/do exactly what we need. If anyone has any feedback regarding eventsbot, I’d love to hear it. You better be quick though, we’re about to pull the trigger.

As long as we go ahead with it, I’ll be able to post again about our experience with them in a few weeks.

yousendit clone

Hey everyone. Something I’ve been looking for recently is some type of yousendit/dropsend/etc clone that we can run on our servers at church for folks to get large files to us easily (think: large batches of photos, hi-def video files, etc). I’ve found a few scripts that claim to do it, and I am about to try them out, but I figured I’d pose the question to the internets. Do you know of any program/script that we could run on one of our servers that would allow a user to easily upload a file, and fire off an email to a pre-set admin? It would need to be a browser-based solution, and very simple for the sender to use.

My wife and I have been members of Granger Community Church for about 3 years now. I was going to tell this long story about how I was blown away the first time I heard this “kid” (he’s a whole 1.5 years younger than me) get up in front of the church and get lit up with the Holy Spirit. Instead, I’ll just tell you that you’ve got to hear it for yourself. If you’re in the Michiana area, come to Journey Bible Classes where he almost always is teaching one of the classes (in February, his class is on Psalms). If you don’t live around here, I’d recommend watching this video or this video. It’s been said many times, but I’d like to repeat it: This guy has wisdom beyond his years. When he teaches, you know you’re hearing from a man being led by the Spirit.

The good news for all of us is that he’s blogging. He just launched commonjason.com. No matter who you are or where you are, you can benifit from his uncommon wisdom.

eCommerce

On my old blog, the posts that received the most hits (by far) were about eCommerce, and our decision to move to using Ubercart (eCommerce shopping cart for Drupal) for wiredchurches.com.

That project is ramping up as we speak, and I’m sure I’ll have plenty more to say about it as time goes on.

We are partnering with commerceguys to make this transition happen.
